Students can choose to study abroad through one of four programs administered through the Education Abroad Center (EAC). The three US Davis programs are the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP), the
UC Davis Quarter Abroad Program (QA) and the UC Davis Summer Abroad Program (SA). Students can also choose to study abroad through a Non-UC Study Abroad (NUCSA) program.

Education Abroad Program (EAP)
The UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) is a UC system-wide program that provides study abroad opportunities for all students in the UC system. EAP programs are administered both through the
Education Abroad Center (EAC), here on the UC Davis campus and through the Universitywide Office for Education Abroad Program (UOEAP) in Santa Barbara. Students should contact the UC Davis
Education Abroad Center for more information on EAP programs.
Quarter Abroad (QA)
UC Davis Quarter Abroad programs are UC Davis faculty led programs designed specifically for UC Davis students.
When a student is selected to participate in a Quarter Abroad program, staff in the EAC office will notify the Financial Aid Office. If the student is receiving financial aid, the Financial Aid
Office will revise his/her budget to accurately reflect the cost of the study abroad program in which the student will be participating. Once the budget has been revised, the Financial Aid Office
will send an email to the student letting him/her know that these budget changes have been made.
It is then the student’s responsibility to work with the Financial Aid Office to request any
increases in loan funding or other resources to cover the costs of studying abroad. Based on the revised budget, a student might be eligible to receive additional student loans from the Financial
Aid Office. Students can also apply for outside loans or their parents can apply for a Parent Loan (PLUS Loan).
Summer Abroad
Summer Abroad participants, who want to receive financial for their program abroad, need to have a FAFSA on file, and in addition to that they need to file the Summer Financial Aid Application
through the Financial Aid Office Web site. This application is normally available in April. Students can also use the Summer Financial Aid Estimator (normally available in March) on the Financial
Aid Office Web site to estimate the amount of aid they can expect to receive for their Summer Abroad Program.
The Financial Aid Office will package summer aid for students at the same time as all
other Summer Financial Aid applicants, and will notify students by email when there summer aid is ready (normally by the end of May). Student need to accept or decline all aid offered and complete
all requirements in order for aid to fund. Then summer aid will be disbursed on the dates indicated in the Class Schedule for that summer session.
Non-UC Study Abroad (NUCSA)
UC Davis students can participate in the Non-UC Study Abroad program (NUCSA) and may be eligible to receive Financial Aid if the study abroad program will occur through a recognized foreign
university or is sponsored by a US educational institution and will receive transfer credit. Depending on the program, the student will be required to complete a consortium or contractual
agreement.
